Most gutter replacement calls we get come from one of three problems: chronic leaks at seams (sectional gutters reaching end of life), pulling away from the fascia (spike hangers failed), or visible sag and overflow (undersized or pitched wrong).

Full replacement is not the same as re-hanging. We tear off the old runs completely, inspect every fascia board, replace rotted sections, install new apron flashing and drip edge, and then hang brand-new seamless aluminum with hidden hangers every 24 inches.

The typical Long Island colonial runs $1,800-$3,200 for a full aluminum replacement. Copper, steel, or homes with heavy fascia rot run higher — but everything is itemized on the quote before we start.

What’s included

Here’s exactly what we do on every gutter replacement job.

Full tear-off of existing gutters

Disposal included. Magnet sweep of driveway and landscaping before we leave.

Fascia board inspection

Every board, every run. Rot gets shown to you and repaired at transparent time-and-materials pricing.

New aluminum apron flashing

Tucked under shingles, over gutter lip. Stops wind-driven rain from getting behind gutters.

New drip edge if missing

Catches roof runoff cleanly. Required by code on new roofs but often missing on older homes.

Seamless aluminum 5" or 6"

Formed on your driveway. Continuous runs, heavy-gauge .032 coil, 27 color options.

Hidden hangers every 24"

Stainless screws into solid wood. Never pulls out, never shows from the ground.

Oversize 3x4 downspouts

~50% more capacity than standard 2x3. Eliminates overflow on big roof sheds.

Flow test + before/after photos

We hose-test every run before we leave. Photos texted same day.

Lifetime workmanship warranty

If our install fails — a leak, a sag, a fallen hanger — we come back at no charge for as long as you own the home.

Got three quotes for gutter guards. LI Gutter was the only one that didn't try to upsell me to LeafFilter at 3x the price.

Common questions

Before you schedule, here’s what homeowners ask.

Rule of thumb: if more than 30% of your runs show seam leaks, sag, or detached sections, full replacement is cheaper over 10 years than chasing repairs. We'll give you an honest read during the free estimate — sometimes a repair is the right call and we'll say so.
Usually not worth it. New downspouts come pre-painted to match, and on a full replacement it doesn't make sense to tie old 2x3 pipes into a new 3x4 system. But if your downspouts are recent (5 years or newer), we can reuse them and discount the job.
Covered above: every board inspected, rot shown to you, repaired at time-and-materials. Typical fascia replacement is $60-$120 per 16-foot board. If your fascia is entirely gone, we'll recommend a capentry contact before we hang new gutters.
Usually no painting needed — we match to your trim color from our 27 stock options. If you need a truly custom color, we can order a custom aluminum coil run (2-3 week lead time, small surcharge).
Gutter replacement rarely requires a permit in Nassau or Suffolk — it's considered like-for-like maintenance. If we're doing major fascia repair or attached structural work, we'll tell you and pull the permit.
Most first-quote visits turn into scheduled jobs within 7-10 days. Spring and fall are our busiest seasons — if you can flex, mid-summer and mid-winter often have faster openings.
