Most gutter repair calls have one of five causes: a failed hanger (spike pulled, screw rotted out of fascia), a seam or miter leak (original caulk failure), a detached downspout (nail or strap failure), ice-dam damage (January-February calls), or a clogged/cracked downspout section.
On the first visit we diagnose the exact cause, quote the repair, and — if the parts are on our truck — usually fix it the same day. Simple hanger replacements, seam seals, and downspout reattaches are $150-$300.
When a repair isn't the right call — meaning the underlying gutter is at end-of-life or a 10-foot section is trashed — we'll tell you honestly. Chasing repairs on a 20-year-old sectional gutter is rarely worth it. See our replacement page for the alternative.

(516) 529-6634Usually it's one of three things: undersized downspouts (5-inch gutters draining into 2x3 spouts — common on older LI homes), a clog (most often where the downspout meets the underground drain), or wrong pitch. All three are fixable without full replacement. We diagnose on the first visit.
Yes — if the fascia is still solid. If the fascia has rotted (common under old undersized gutters), we repair the fascia first, then re-hang. We'll show you the rot before doing the work.
Depends on how much. A single 10-foot section, we replace the section. If three or more runs came down, we usually recommend doing the whole side — the other runs are probably close to failing too. We'll tell you the math at the estimate.
Yes — with butyl sealant (not silicone, which fails in 2-3 years). But if your gutters are sectional and more than 10 years old, we'll be upfront: you'll see us back in 3-5 years for the next leak. At some point replacement is cheaper than the cycle of fixes.
For specific trouble spots — yes. Valley channels, low-pitch gable ends, sections that have repeatedly ice-dammed. We install self-regulating 120V cable with a roof/gutter return loop. ~$15-$22 per linear foot installed, plus a low-amp outlet.
